Normal and Preview Options

After having spent many hours redesigning my index page, it has disappeared from the normal view but can be seen in preview and html views. In these views, however, I cannot make changes (obviously). What can I do to fix this? It seems it happened when I copy/pasted an javascript code from my old index page.
 
Is this an Excel question? Sounds more like a FrontPage question.
