The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) has made another spectacular minute by minute documentary, this time recording Norway’s northenmost railway linking Trondheim and Bodø. We’ve recorded it four times — once for every season, giving truly unique footage of this ten hour ride.

You can watch it on the web, but we have also made everything available for you to download in full HD — and licensed it with Creative Commons so that you can edit, remix and share!

Well, that saves me a trip to Norway to see the scenery. :D

Quite a long video though. :p

I just remembered that back in the 70's I had a pen pal from Trondhiem, Norway. I was never able to make it there but now I have :fool:

Yes, it is long, but the sceneries are wonderful... ditto for implementation.

And... at 34 minutes... :fool:

Sign at Hell station. "Gods" means "cargo" or "freight" in Norwegian, while
the old spelling of "expedition" ("handling") has since become "ekspedisjon".

Wonderful scenery. It's quite a journey... viewed an hour so far, but will need to come back for more :D

Viking 1--- where you been lately mate ?

Viking 2----to Hell and back mate.

... and viking conductor humour with cultural references: a few minutes before passing through Hell, the train waits as it is meeting a commuter train. The conductor announces: "Vi venter på kryssende tog. Dette kan ta vinter og vår." (... This may take winter and spring.)

Cue Solveig's Song (Grieg/Ibsen):

Kanske vil der gå både Vinter og Vår,
og næste Sommer med, og det hele År; —
men engang vil du komme, det véd jeg visst;
og jeg skal nok vente, for det lovte jeg sidst.

The winter and spring both may come and pass by,
and summer days may fade and the year may die;—
but surely you will come back one day to me,
and I shall be waiting, as I once vowed to be.

... are we there yet?

it'll probably take me 10 days to watch all that train journey. :o
