nonexclusive import from Excel

I have several applications that import Excel files into Access, some
automatically importing a large number of files. I've scheduled the update
process for a time when no one should be in these files, but occasionally
someone has the spreadsheet open and I'm unable to load it into Access.

Is there a way to open and load a spreadsheet without exclusive access? TIA.
 
It is possible; however, be aware that if someone does have it open, you may
not get correct data. If the person that has it open makes changes, the
changes may not get imported correctly.

To do this, you need to Share the workbook in Excel. Tools, Share Workbook
