non-sequential page numbers in Powerpoint

How do I make non-sequential page numbering in a powerpoint presentation. I
need to insert pages from other software that will cause the numbering
sequence to be off in the powepoint presentation so I can insert these pages
where necessary.

Whenever you insert a new slide, PowerPoint will renumber them in sequence.

And if you don't want to show some slides, you can always hide them.

You have to add nonsequential numbers manually to each slide. Sorry.

This may be of interest. If you use it to number slides you can then delete
dummy slides without the numbers changing. Would that help?
