non-Admins can't run Reports!!

(cross-posted at access.security)

I was installing my Access 2003 db on client machines and found everything
working normally on the development machine with full Admin rights. I
installed on a few client machines and found that any machine with full Admin
rights could run reports, but non-Admin machines couldn't.
I made a tiny db with a single field, single table, and a report based on
that (show me the values for that field). Again, the non-admin machine
couldn't run the report when I double-clicked on it while an admin machine
could. So it's not a programming error - there's no programming involved.
Is it an Access installation problem (and just a coincidence that it runs on
Admin machines only) or is it a setup problem (I couldn't find any setting to
disable reports) or is it an XP Pro problem (I'm not familiar with Policies,
etc)
Any help or guidance would be most appreciated.

This is probably to do with how the permissions affect printers.

Access uses the metrics from the printer driver to layout the report. If
there is no printer installed, or if Access cannot get the metrics from the
default printer, it is unable to design, print, or preview the reports.

You may be able to solve the problem by installing the same printer as a
local printer (not a network printer) so the printer driver is installed.
Then change the port or connection so this printer is actually pointing to
the network printer.

Alternatively, you may be able to solve the problem by ensuring that each
user is a local computer administrator.

The users who couldn't run reports all had default network printers
installed. I'd like to try your solution but I couldn't find any IT guys to
do this. Maybe next time I install updates I'll find one. In the meantime,
I set them up to print to PDF files.

thanks

I have the same problem and my printer is local and still cannot print, view
or create new reports.
