No Video from Windows Media Player 11

I have been trying to play video's on and off for several weeks now. The
video either appears as a green screen or not at all, plain black.

I have downloaded VCL Media Player as referred to in post titled "Out of
Sync Video". The video and the audio played in sync.

So my question is why is there no video while watching WMP 11?

You do not have a codec that works 100% for the video in quiestion with
Media Player 11...
