No transport provider message

Until last week, I was using Outlook 2000 as my email client just fine. Then
I started getting "No transport provider was available" error messages
whenever I tried to send an email. Incoming mail is not affected.
Initially, if I tried resending 2 or 3 times, the email went through. Now no
emails can be sent. I've tried checking the email configurations, creating a
new profile, and "repairing"/reinstalling Outlook. I guess my next step is
completely uninstalling Office & reinstalling. Or does anyone have any
suggestions?

Bill, I've tried all the suggestions on that page. I'm down to the
un-install/re-install.
