I'm using Windows 2000 professional and I can't seem to get a thumbnail of
any TIF (all <3MB) whilst showing files in thumbnail folder view. It works
fine under Windows ME with the same files - anyone know what the problem is?

TIFs are very iffy in Windows 2000 thumbnail view. I have two one works the other doesn't. It has to do with the way they were made.

The way they were made? The TIFFs in this instance were all scanned at the
same time using Epson's scanner software - its on another machine and I
can't check now. Are you saying that different TIFF producing files generate
TIFFs differently? Are you referring to the thumbnail file within the main
file and that some programs only save the main file not the thumbnail
inside? If so - is there a converter for saving the thumbnail of a TIFF
inside itself?

TIFFs have a variety of encoding when they are made. I have two. One thumbnails the other doesn't. It is the way the TIFF was made. If it was made so that the thumbnail cannot be made in Windows 2000 then that's the way it is.

"Are you saying that different TIFF producing files generate TIFFs differently?" - yes they can

I dont understand your questions after this one. Sorry.
