no such interface supported?

hello internet savy helpers

whenever i try install a program from CD i get the error message:
"error while parsing command line or reading setup.ini , no such interface supported"
any chance anyone can help me out. i have been told it could be a windows installer problem, but XP never says anything about that. thanks.

What programme?

Have you considered a problem with the CD drive itself?

i dont think it is the CD drive. i tried two different drives and two different programs (my sonicDVD and the creative sound blaster suite). any help???
