No sound from WMP10

WMP 10 has been perfect since I installed it but now I can't hear any sound
from it. I can hear sound from system events and also from some other music
players - but not Windows Media Player. I can see video but no audio
(although the graphic equaliser is active - it moves).

This happened when I installed a Logitech keyboard which comes with its own
media player ("Medialife" - which works fine - I can hear sound from it).

Any ideas what is causing this?

BTW I've tried to re-install it. No difference.

I had the same problem and was able to fix it. Go to Options / Devices and
select Speakers / Properties. Make sure the Audio Device to use is "Default
Direct Sound Device" and not "Direct Sound:" followed by your sound card
name. This is anti-intuitive, but in my case it worked. Not a clue why,
though.

Some people find it handy when they get a phone call while listening to
music.
