No sound from the Powerpoint slides

Hi

I have followed the steps to include sound file, and it worked not a
problem, then for no reason the sound files ceased to work. I have checked
each slide - all 7 the settings had not been touched. I made sure that the
mute wasnt on, and its not.

I checked to make sure my sound card/devices were working, they are. Tested
it.
when I double click on the 'speaker'on the slide it comes up with corrupt
file. So I removed it, and inserted another sound file - mp3, and again no
sound.
The file that said corrupt, I played on Windows player and not a problem.

I am well and truelly confused. Are there certain files that can only be
attached to PP, or does it take all sound files (within space band ie: 100mb)?

You said that the file stopped working after it had been working. Did
you, perhaps, move the PPT file? Keep in mind that mp3 files are linked
to the presentation and not embedded. You want to put the mp3 file in
the same folder as the PPT file and then insert the file. If you have to
move the PPT file, be sure to move the mp3 file with it.

Maybe the format of your audio is not supported by powerpoint or maybe
you got the wrong way toinsert it to powerpoint.
You can read this article for detail as how to insert audio into
powerpoint.
