Please list the "standard things" you checked.
Your standard things list and mine may differ.

"I haver checked all the standard things"
Unfortunately that says a lot while saying nothing since no one knows
what is standard for you.

Is the sound card OK in Device Manager?
Are volumes up and not muted?
In the Volume Control, Advanced, is "Digital Output Only" checked or
not?
Change it.

Go to the website of the sound card/computer manufacturer and get the
latest Windows XP sound driver.

Checked DirectX, sound card, device manager, XP diagnostics, I get a crackel
when I take speaker jack inand out of PC so speakers are live just no sound
at all.

So you checked hardware?

Installed the latest driver from the manufacturer web page?
Tried headphones just to be sure?
Unbinstalled the sound card software, powered down, removed the sound card,
booted back up, powered down again, reinstalled the card, powered up again
and let Windows redetect the card then installed the latest drivers for it?
