no sound after reinstall XP

i reinstalled XP on my dell dimension 2400 and now i have
no sound. according to device manager 'multimedia audio
controller' needs drivers. neither driver update wizard
nor new hardware detection wizard had any success.

any thoughts on where to get them or a work around? last
time i reinstalled XP, a couple of months ago, i did not
have this problem.

Go to dell site
Download the correct drivers
If it has a installer-run it
If not open system properties and install drivers manually
