no repeat background

Is it possible to have a background that wont tile in one particular cell of
a table with multiple cells.?
 
Yes, but not for all browsers
Apply the cell background using Cell Properties - Format Style Border Shading
- sometimes it helps to apply a transparent .gif to all other cell backgrounds to prevent some browsers (NN4) from tiling the image
into the other cells
