I am using XP pro and Outlook 2003. I am unable to receive attachments that
open in the body of the email. Is there a setting that will allow me to do
so?

I should also add that I am only referring to .jpeg and .gif files.

No. Outlook is designed to show as attachments pictures included as
attachments. Only if the images are embedded in the message will they
display in the message. It doesnt operate like Outlook Express in this
regard.
