No Overwrite prompt when saving a document

When editing a document and trying to save it under the same file name using
"Save_As" the dialogue box that used to appear, asking if i'm sure that I
want to overwrite the existing document, does not appear and it saves it as
if I had just clicked "Save".

It works fine in excel and powerpoint just not in word anymore.

Does anyone know how I can get the feature back?

Save As will not prompt you about over-writing if the file you are
attempting to overwrite is the file you have open. Word detects that you
are trying to overwrite the file with itself and performs a Save instead of
a Save As.

For example: If you open Document 2 and try to save it as Document 2, you
won't get prompted. If you Open Document 2 and try to Save it as Document
3, a new file that doesn't exist, you won't get prompted. But if you open
Document 2 and attempt to save it as Document 1, a file that already exists,
you will get prompted.

Cheers

Interestingly if you 'save as' with the same name, it is not quite the same
as a 'save' as any createdate fields in the document will be updated to the
current date.
