NO NVRAM

I am curious as to why I see "NO NVRAM" every time my
computer boots up. I have never seen a computer say this
before. Luckily the computer boots up; most of the time....
Is there a command within XP where I can check to see if
I am having any hardware issues? Thank you for your time.
