brand new to vista and I have found that I must now get used to Microsoft
Outlook - its not bad - just need to get used to a different look after
being on xp for ... well forever :-) ... but .. WHERE ARE THE NEWSGROUPS????

if there is no option for subscribing to newsgroups on MO - can I go back
and install OE??? or ??

Outlook doesn't have a news reader. On XP, it uses OE, on Vista you can use
Windows Mail, or the newer Windows Live Mail.

OY VEY .... having to use 2 mail programs....what a bummer - big mistake
imho on Microsoft 's part!

Outlook never supported newsgroups. Windows Mail is the replacement for
Outlook Express. Maybe a mistake on Microsoft's part, but you are noticing
it several years later than everyone else. You can use Windows Mail in
Vista to manage your Gmail mail; you do not have to use Outlook. In
addition if your PC came with Outlook and other Office programs installed,
chances are good that it is cripple ware that will turn into a pumpkin soon
unless you pay for the privilege of continuing to use it.

Outlook has always used Outlook Express as its newsreader. OnVista, either
Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail perform this function. See the following:
