No more new fonts can be applied - excel

Hi
I am receiving the error message above. All support posts I find say it is to do with charts but it happens with blank workbooks, which only contain one simple formula and no charts.

We are running Office 2007 on Windows 10. This has only just recently started and we tried a system restore in case it is due to an update but nothing changed.
