Hi All,

I have a problem with windows mail. Whenever I send a mail, the recipient
gets it. However, it does not get stored in my local, windows mail outbox OR
my email hosts (www.one.com).

If I send on one.coms web based system its fine, its only when I send
through Windows Mail that I have this problem.

Any ideas on what this may be? Thanks in advance!

Windows Mail stores a copy of outgoing messages in the Sent Items folder.
If that is not happening, the default option may have changed. Go to
Tools, Options, Send, the first box should be checked.

A message sent using Windows Mail should put a copy in the "Sent Items"
folder, not the Outbox. The Outbox is a temporary holding place for a
message from the time you click on Send until the time it actually goes out.
A sent message won't show up on the server if your account is using POP3. I
suppose it would for an IMAP account.

Tools - Options - Send
[x] Save copy of sent messages in the "Sent Items" folder
OK

Hi Dave and Gary,

Yes, I did mean sent box. I was just not thinking!

Regardless, the option to save is active, yet it still does not save a copy
to the sent box? Any ideas?

Many thanks.

What you might try: toggle that 'save' option off, restart Windows Mail,
then toggle the 'save' option on again. If no improvement, either your
antivirus program or one of your other security programs may be
blocking writes to the registry. Changes can't be saved if they can't
be written to the registry.
Some of the security programs known to do this are:

Ad-Aware Ad-Watch
IBM Access Connections
Kaspersky
McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware
Norton AV
Spyware Blaster
Spybot> Tools> IE Tweaks
Spybot- Teatimer
Spy Sweeper
Spyware Doctor
Zone Alarm (free) 6.5, reported to be fixed in later versions.
