no menu toolbar

Please help me, i opened an accesss file this morning and to my horror, the
menu toolbar has disappeared. The only one visisble contains the commands:
File, Edit, Insert, Records, Window, Help. when i right click on it nothing
happens. I need to swop to design view and now i dont know how to do that.
When i rightclick on my startup form nothing happens either. Need help
desperately as i dont know how to make changes and access my other components

Hi this looks like someone has changed the startup options, (tools,
startup), try holding shift when you open the database.

Try holding down the shift key when you open the file.
