No label border lines shown when typing

For some strange reason the grey border lines that separate the different
size labels when I am about to type are gone now. I don't know if I made a
bad command with out my knowledge. It was working fine this morning and now
they are gone. I have tried everything I can think of to get these lines back
but nothing seems to work.
