No Horizontal Scroll Bar To Access Worksheet Tabs

For several years I have been using Excel 2000 to do
payroll. After my primary payroll sheet, I have a
separate worksheet on each employee to calculate quarterly
earnings. Now suddenly, the horizontal scroll bar and all
the sheet tabs that let me access the separate pages have
disappeared. The settings are checked for all scroll
bars. I've switched views. I've done everything I can
think of...asked Clippy every question in the book, but
cannot find page tabs at bottom of sheet. Can anyone
help? Thanks...

Couple of ideas but no certain fix I'm afraid.

1) In the meantime use ctrl-pageup, ctrl-pagedown to get access to the
sheets

2) Has the scroll bar perhaps been resized to the point where it just
appears as two lines? Move your mouse over to the bottom left corner and
carefully exam the area. The pointer will change shape.

3) When opening Excel on it's own do the scroll bars appear? This will give
a clue as to whether or not it's local to the worksheet or Excel settings in
general

Or even, has the normal worksheet horizontal scroll bar been resized to the point that it has
covered the tab scrolls completely.
