No Domain Box at Log on

J

John Thompson

I recently added a new domain, I did not delete or remove
anything. I then shutdown my computer. When I attempt to
get back into Windows I get the Log On Box. There is a
space for the User Name and Password, but the Domain space
is no longer there. When I try to Log On, I get the
following message "The system could not log you on. Make
sure your User name and domain are correct, then type your
password again." I can't tell if the domain is correct
because it is no longer displayed at the log on screen.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are there any buttons on the dialog box? (like options,
or expand, etc). Does pressing any of those result in a
Domain dialog box?

How did you add the domain?

Thanks for your reply, the options box only gives me the
option to shutdown, restart, etc. Looking at other posts
I think it may be stuck in the workgroup mode, so I'll
have to dig up the admin password.
