"No disk" after burning a cd with XP

Serge

Good morning,

After burning a CD with Xp ( an ppt file ! ) and ejecting
the CD, next time I open powerpoint, i've got the error
message "DDE Server Window: POWERPOINT.EXE - No disk"
It seems that powerpoint try automatically to open the
file just burned on a cd a few minutes ago

I've already tried and repair office...

Many thanks in advance !
Serge

For future reference, it's a bad idea to save directly to CD from PowerPoint
(for this and other reasons). Instead, save to your local hard drive then use
your CD burning software to make the cd.

For now, try putting a CD in the drive, any non-blank CD, then start PPT again.
Does that get you past the startup problem?

In fact i dont save it from powerpoint.
Here's all the process :
I create a powerpoint presentation, save it to a drive
(locally or on a server)
I CLOSE powerpoint
I burn the file on a cd, in this case i've tried with
Roxio easy cd creator
I eject the cd and close the cdrom burner
I start again powerpoint and get the error message
"DDE Server Window: POWERPOINT.EXE - No disk"

Yes when i insert another cd it works ! but next time the
problem occurs again !

Thank you in advance for any help !

I'm not sure what to suggest. I use a version of Easy CD Creator on one or two
computers here and haven't had any similar problems. Have you checked their
site to see if there are other reports of this message appearing in other apps?
