No days, only dates

J

Jorge Bravo

When I view the calendar in Week mode it displays the dates, but not the
days of the week. Of course, in time you will get used to it and don't need
to count round from Monday to Sunday, but it would be nice if the day was
next to the date on top of each box. Is there an option for that?

Thank you

I am not sure that I understand your reply; or maybe I did not explain
myself well.

When I open the Calendar, in the Standard Toolbar I have a number of buttons
that enable me to choose between 'Day', 'Work Week', 'Week', 'Month'.

If I choose 'Week', the right-hand pane displays boxes for each day of the
week headed with the date (e.g. 13 October) at the top right-hand corner of
each box. I would like the day of the week to be there as well: e.g. Monday
13 October.

Is that possible?

Thank you very much

JB

That is a long date format setting. If you use days in the long date,
you'll see them on the calendar.

How do I go to change for 'days in the long date'? I've looked, with no
success.

Thanks

JB

What don't you understand? The instructions given in the message I cited
are fairly precise.

go to control panel, regional and language options. The formats tab will
show your current settings. Click the Customize this format button then Date
tab and select a new long date. you can use one of the predefined formats
or make one up using the formats listed in the notations.

Thanks, but I have been talking about the day; not the date.

Dear Diane

I have XP Home and the languages options in the Control Panel do not give me
the choice I want.

Besides, I have a feeling that my original messages explaining my 'problem'
were not well understood.

Thank you for your help

your problem: you see dates as Oct 20, Oct 21 etc and want to see them as
Mon Oct 20, Tues Oct 21, right?

You mean the long date format you want is not available? It doesn't matter -
you can type in the format you want. Typical is dddd MMMM dd, yyyy (for
Saturday, October 18, 2008 format) or ddd, MMM dd, yyyy (Sat, Oct 18,
2008) - you can play with it and apply it to see how it looks.
