I placed the Search engine from web componenets in Front
Page on my web site. I get the message "no catalog" when
I enter a search word. Without me making any changes,
this has worked at times and then it will quit. Now it
doesn't work at all. What does "no catalog" mean and how
do you repair the search enging?

Contact your host and have them create / re-create the Index Catalog for your site.

thank you Thomas. I have asked my host for help, but they
said it was not their problem. I will definitely call
them again and ask them to create/re-create the Index
Catalog. I did not have that terminology to ask them
before. I have a Table of Contents that works, but I
guess there is no relationship.

My INternet Provider does not know how to do this. They
don't know anything but reloading Front Page Extensions.
Any other ideas?

If they don't know how to do it, and don't want to learn, you'll need to
find a new host in order to use the search feature.

Get another host?

Craig
My INternet Provider does not know how to do this. They
don't know anything but reloading Front Page Extensions.
Any other ideas?

Also, creating the catalog has nothing to do with the FP extensions, this is part of Index Server

Except they could use the WAIS of the extensions if they knew how to
properly configure everything.
