No Archive function after KB2412171 Outlook 2007

Been looking for a solution short of re-installation or restoring an
older image but have yet (after a week of looking!) to find one.
MS yanked the KB2412171 fix because it cause multiple issues biggest
being that the Archive function is GONE. I am stuck with those and as
yet have not found a solution.
I can't run archiving anymore, all options missing, outlook running
like crap, and have found the "fix" with a search but I have looked
and looked, sorted by name, sorted by date, sorted by program, and
there is NO KB2412171 listed among my windows updates (and yes I
clicked "view installed updates").
I have been able to restore my connections to gmail and live/hotmail
accounts by 'unchecking' the "Require logon using SPA.." But that is
about it.
I use Outlook as a 'catch' all for my many, many accounts and require
Archival functionality.
MS has just posted that they are 'looking into the matter' but that of
course is NOT helping, they have no solution date or fix.
Any ideas?

I'm trying to fix the same problem, to no avail! Surely Microsoft can
post something that can end our frustrations, like even telling us not
to try and fix it, but that they will have a fix by a certain date! I
can't archive anything....that function just isn't there any more. I
can also find the KB2412171 under "View installed Updates", but to try
and remove it (Windows 7) by clicking on "Installed Updates", it
doesn't show there????

It was listed as Microsoft Office update for outlook KB2412171 in my
windows updates. I was able to uninstall, and everything working great
now.

looks like MS has issued a fix/patch for the previous patch that
messed all up. get it here:

After installation my Archive list in the file menu and button in the
'Other' options is now available!
