No Alert for new e-mail

I no longer get alerts telling me that I have new e-mail
messages. If I log out of Windows Messenger then log
back in, I get them. Any ideas on what is causing this
or how to fix it?

I have just starting having the exact same problems. I have ms
messenger 6.1 and no longer get email alerts. As well as this, M
email address is no longer stored so that i have to retype it everytim
i log into messenger. Has anyone come up with a reason/solution/fix???

an update..i just received a reply to the alerts problem fro
microsoft.......for your info....

I understand that you are no longer receive an email alert. We hav
confirmed
the issue you described and passed it to our technical support staf
for
investigation. While we wait for the product group to address you
issue or
concern, we cannot give you specific dates for when you will se
change
