No address bar

Justin

Here's my dilema: One day I opened my IE and there was no
Address bar. I went to 'View', 'Toolbars', and then tried
all the options and nothing works. In
the 'View', 'Toolbars' menu I can check 'Address Bar' and
even 'Links' but all that happens is that the words
Address and Links appear in two different little boxes on
the right side of my Tool Bar up top. They are both in
light grey as if they are not available as opposed to in
black. There is no 3 little dots either indicating that I
can drag either of them over. I have also checked to make
sure I have not checked 'Work Offline' as I know that
could possibly be the problem. Maybe it might be my IE is
screwed up b/c I know every once in a while when I open
up my IE the 'My Search Bar' appears on my Tool Bar when
I specifically keep it un-checked from
the 'View', 'Toolbars' menu. I am currently typing all my
address into my Google Search Bar up top. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

If you see the smallest piece of the Address Bar (usually the name)
then stretch the Address bar back to a normal size and move it if
necessary. If the Button Bar or some other bar is to the right of it,
you may want to move that to a different position first.

Don't forget to ensure "Lock the Toolbars" is unchecked in
View-Toolbars.

hi Justin,

i have located some steps that allow you to restore the toolbar settings to
the defaults:

Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

Right-click the WebBrowser key, click Delete, and then click Yes.
Open Internet Explorer, click View, and then point to Toolbars. The toolbar
default settings are restored.

try out the step and all the best!
