When I visit my local county web site seeking information re local addresses,
I get to the request address bar and can go no further. In the past, I had
gone to mozilla and firefox to get access, and that worked, but I would like
to have access on this machine without firefox download. I can access the
site and get the information on all my other computors using xp, and I used
to be able to get the info on the computor that this one replaced. I would
appreciate any help.

This "problem" system is xp-sp2. Both of my other laptops are also xp-sp2.
The one which crashed was xp-sp2. The url is "http:www.okaloosapa.com", then
/search/property records.

Aah, my little secret is ie7. Maybe that is the problem, except that both of
my other computors run ie7 also.

That calls for troubleshooting.

Run Internet Explorer 7 in 'No Add-Ons' mode.

Problems can result when add-ons, such as ActiveX controls and browser
toolbars, conflict with Internet Explorer 7 or if they are damaged..

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No Add-Ons)

Alternatively, you can create a shortcut on your desktop with the
following target path:

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff

If no problems occur in 'No Add-Ons' mode, the problem is caused by one
of the add-ons that load together with Internet Explorer 7.
