NLB TCP IP issues

Hi,

Issue:
I have a 2 Node NLB cluster. Server A, and Server B.

I can not ping B from A, and A from B when NLB is active,
but if I ping A from A, and b from B it works.

Server A description:

Win2k Advanced
IP: 10.0.0.1
Sub: 255.255.0.0
NLB Virtual IP: 10.0.0.115

Heart beat info server A:

IP: 192.168.1.1
Sub: 255.255.255.0


Server B description:

Win2k Advanced
IP: 10.0.0.2
Sub: 255.255.0.0
NLB Virtual IP: 10.0.0.115

Heart beat info server B:

IP: 192.168.1.2
Sub: 255.255.255.0


If I disable the NLB service from the network card
proprerties, it works fine, but I need NLB.

Have you seen this before?
How can I resolve this?
What is causing this?
Is this a problem?

First of all one point - the NLB heartbeat goes across the load balanced
network interface.

Do you have NLB configured to use multicast or unicast?

Could you run "wlbs display" on each host and post the results here?

For: "First of all one point - the NLB heartbeat goes across the load
balanced network interface."



You mean my heart-beat network should be the same as the one that has the
NLB activated?



Right now the NLB is active on the 10.0.0.0 network, and what I think my
heart beat is or private network is the 192.168.1.0 network, and NLB is not
active on that one.



I use Unicast.

Try switching to multicast as a test. This may apply:

FYI - There is no such thing as a "heart beat" network. The NLB heartbeats
are sent across the load balanced NICs.
