i have the folder options set to show all hidden folders/files as well as all
the extentions. However when i drill down to:
local settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
i see a different set of files than when i enter this in the windows
explorer address bar:
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook

once i'm there the address is identical but the contents of the folder
(files listed)
are not.

why is that - I expected to see the same files; unless i use %AppData%... i
never see Outlook.NK2 unless i search the system files.

Also: if i save a copy of the .NK2 file and at some point i replace the
hard drive if i put that file in the proper place i should be able to access
all the email address as i fill in the to, cc, bcc fields right?

thanks so much

Nope, AppData or C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data is
the Roaming settings folder for the user
\Local Settings\ is the local settings folder for that user

Nope, the nk2-file is tied to the profile. The file on its own won't give
you anything. Use the Save My Settings Wizard instead.

thanks so much!

I'll be running the Save My Settings Wizard and storing it on the server as
soon as my boss is back in town.
