NIC turns off automatically

I have three systems running XP on one of them the Network
adapter seems to diable itself automatically. What setting
do I need to change?

First go to Network Connections and right click the NIC and make sure at the
top of the context menu it says Disable. If it says Enable, it means the NIC
has been disabled and you must select Enable to enable it. It should retain
what ever it is set to after a reboot.
