runs perfectly without movies. Movies files have formats ****.vp6 ....

Wow VP6... damn,

VP6 is a proprietary codec that EA uses. (some EA programmer correct me if I
am wrong) VP6 is a video codec that once compressed cannot be viewed
anywhere except inside an EA game. It keeps the videos from being uploaded
to sites like You Tube without some third party aid like FRAPS.

edit: Oops, I'm wrong (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VP6) VP6, AKA-TrueMotion
VP6 is a codec developed by On2 Tech, but if you installed the game
correctly, it should just work. Reading a little into it, and it seems the
codec is Adobe Flash based. You might try going to http://www.adobe.com and
getting the newest Adobe Flash player.

Poked around the EA support site, but didn't find ANYTHING (though I like
that EA's support site has been redesigned and runs really fast now), You
might want to fill out a help form on their site, see if one of their techs
can send you a solution...

http://support.ea.com - Click on Contact Us on the left.

Or peruse the forums. I'll see if I can find something in the meantime.
