nForce2 400 Ultra sound issues

Just wondering if anyone else has similar issues. I'm referencing the
onboard audio device of the MSI K7N2 Delta-L, although I think this is a
device on many different mobos.

First off, the Nvidia system utility is unavailable. I'm not sure what
its actually called, but I'm pretty sure my mobo supports it. There was
a BIOS update and the only listed change was, "support for NVIDIA system
utility". I've installed the drivers on Nvidia's site multiple times.

In games, the sound is messed up. Nine times out of ten, the card will
cut off speech before it is done, and the sound quality is poor. Also,
there are performance issues in game which I believe to be attributed to
a lack of hardware sound decoding.

Winamp has serious problems decoding audio properly. The sound is
choppy, and frequently skips or slows down. I tried going into the
settings and choosing the "use hardware audio decoding" setting, but to
no avail. The timing is off on almost all songs

I'm not entirely sure if my motherboard has the official NF sound device
on board, but both winamp and the device manager have "NVIDIA(R)
nForce(TM) Audio" listed as the sound device.

Has anyone experienced something similar? I'd like any advice as to how
to fix this problem. Oh, and I don't want to get a sound card just yet,
so don't bother suggesting that.

Get the drivers for the sound for the motherboard from the mftrs
homepage. I have a Chaintech 7NIF2 nForce2 board and although the
NVidia motherboard chipset sound drivers will indeed give me sound,
they're not the right drivers. I believe it uses a CMI something or
other. I know that when I install the nforce drivers from nVidia I
always need to re-install the sound drivers from Chaintech.
