Hi all.
I used to have i think it was usenet newsgroups, on on old pc.

Q is, what are the pop3 or smtp things for usenet groups, that i need to
create an account on windows mail vista.?

What is the address for usenet groups that i need to enter???

Please help.

The account is already in Vista, named Microsoft Communities.
If not then add a news account via tools>accounts>add>newsgroup account.
The server name is msnews.microsoft.com, remember to not use your un-munged
email address in your account settings.

Usenet groups are found on NNTP servers, and they do not use POP or SMTP.
Those are for *mail*.

You need to have the NNTP server names. While there are some free severs
around the world, access and content tends to be spotty.

These days, if you want reliable NNTP service, you have to pay for it, in
the $5 - $10 /month range covers a lot of usage.

You don't need to pay anything to use the MS news servers, which are found
at:

msnews.microsoft.com
