You have to have access to other news servers. Most ISP's provide one.

A good one for binaries is
http://www.giganews.com/usenet_offers/lp/news-servers.html

Same way you do on the Microsoft one.

You have their news server name or IP address set up, download a list of
available groups, then subscribe to the ones you want.

You need to create a news account specifying the name
of your news server (something like news.xxxxxx.com) and
then download the list of available groups.
At that point you'll be able to subscribe.

So...
Tools>Accounts>Add>Newsgroup Account

Get the newsserver name from your ISP.

If you ISP doesn't provide a newsserver you'll have to
find one on the internet.

Note. There are very few free news servers left
and the ones that do exist tend to limit access.

Looks like you are connecting via a truck stop service, Idleaire.com.
They probably don't offer a news server (not that I could find, anyway).
Do you have a home ISP?
