newegg socket 754 cpu

For people with 754 boards, if you missed the 2.4ghz socket 754
cpu's at newegg, there's a new oem cpu there, a 2.2ghz athlon64 for
$59. The nice thing is it's a low wattage cpu, ~59 watts vs 89
watts regular. 11 multiplier should make for easy overclocks.

It is an E6. Double check that your BIOS will recognize it.
A bundle package from Tigerdirect used an E6 processor, and
it wouldn't work with the motherboard it was bundled with.
Be careful with the E6's.

On Asus motherboards, the boards and required BIOS are listed here,
for a 3200+ E6 S754.

Yeah, that's a big problem if you're getting a board and processor
at the same time. I'd only recommend this as an upgrade for
existing 754 systems. You can get cheap, faster, cpu's in 939, AM2.
