Hello, I am not able to "find" location in my winXP (Home
ed), to "enable" the application (for attachment sending)
designated I believe, as : .pps . I believe it has
relativity to "Power Point", and I could not, by running a
search, find Power Point. It may not be bundled in my pc.
When I used to run win 98 or 95 I knew how to get into my
Netscape toolbar and locate the "apps" to select others
(like .pps). I no longer have the old machine. I do have
adobe photo shop elements in this pc, does anybody know if I
could get "set up" through my a.p.s. element software? I
doubt this, because I need to locate it in my pc files, in
order to open attchmts on emails with this .pps designation.
I have a hunch THIS location would contain enables for other
"apps" also, such as jpeg; tiff; etc ?

Help please, & would appreciate it.

I've gone to the link you provided :
<http://tinyurl.com/nmze> a couple times tonight, but I can
not get a download to start. I've selected "start download"
each time, but nothing happens, and when I drop down to
another "start download NOW" link, and I select it-still
nothing happens.

Strange. This download is widely used.
When you click on Download at this site, a window should open to download
ppviewer.exe
You simply click on Save and save it in a folder on your hard drive. After
you save it you double click on it to install it and you should then be able
to use it.

I know. I haven't given up on it yet. That window you
mention, never opens. The page just sits there doing
nothing. Tomorrow I'll try it some more. Thanx.

I just went to "control panel>add/remove>security settings
selecting tab "privacy", and disabled pop up blocker found
there. Went back trying to download. Still nothing
happening. Mine is XP, and browser is Netscape v 7.1 .

Now, a question(s) (1) in netscape, I go to edit>preferences
in upper tool bar, selecting "download" and there are 3
options, one is always ask download manager upon download,
two-is show progress dialog, and three is never ask download
manager. WHICH one should be dotted IN MY CURRENT problem,
until download is successful?

(2) I also have Mozilla Firefox and a question here is there
anything in Mozilla software that should be disabled until I
can get the download (ppviewer 2003) ?

Also, is there some other popup blocker (that I right now
can not think of in my mch, that should be disabled
temporarily? Also suggestion is WHICH suggested ones?

I do run Zone Alarm but have turned it off to try this
download (temporarily, because I usually have it on). This
all is puzzling to me because I have noticed at least three
other posters in the thread, who have had no trouble at all
with this. ? ?

Thanks in advance for help, and have a good Sunday

I don't think this is due to pop blocker or adaware.
I just tried downloading on one computer with Explorer and on another with
Mozilla. Both downloaded properly.
Have you downloaded from other sites?
Try downloading Picasa 2 from here:
www.picasa.com
Does this work?

It may help to run Disk Cleanup to delete
all of your Temp and Temporary Internet
files and empty your recycle bin. Then try
your download again.

Tool in Windows XP

Also, you can override your pop-up blocker
by holding your Ctrl key while clicking "Start
Download". If it doesn't come up right away...
wait a few minutes and see if anything
happens.

I would never recommend disabling your
Firewall or Virus scanner while on the net.

<It may help to> (John)

Well, I finally did get it downloaded, because I went to
Internet Explorer and successfully did it on first try. BUT
this program still will not open a doc I was sent by a
friend. It was fwd to my friend, who susequently told me he
had to get Power Point to read it. The doc/email really,
comes with the attchmt extension reading Bankaccount.pps

Now, could one further problem come with MY mail comes to me
through Netscape; would it fail me just because I down
loaded this power point viewer97, through IE? The last thing
I'd ever want to do is change my mail handling to within
IE-meaning Outlook Express, which I'll just not do. This
friend does his emailing on a Mac. There MUST be something
I'm missing here. I've never used these applications; I
saved it to my desktop, so now do I have to r click on the
desktop icon EVERY time I want to read an attchmt email,
coming with this .pps extension?

I told you I was a newbie to these things in a pc : )

Well, I knew there was something I was missing. I just r
clicked on the attchmt extension and clicked on "save as";
then I looked in my desktop files until I saw the file name,
r clicked on this, asked for "open". And there it came up on
the screen, the whole doc. Thanx for all the suggestions.

musty Joe
