Newbie question about Outlook

R

Russell

I'm new to outlook (I've been using Outlook Express). Outlook is blocking
"potentially unsafe attachments". I'm sending myself an attachment from my
home computer, is there a way to allow certain emails through this so I can
see anything I've send to myself?
Thanks

Which version of Outlook (97, 2000, 2003, XP) ????

I will assume you're using Outlook 2000 for the sake of argument.

This behavior, as annoying as it may be, is there to protect us from
ourselves. :)

I dowloaded freeware called Chilton Preview (do a search on google). This
gives you an e-mail preview pane that lets the blocked attachments "slide"
through. The instructions for installation are on the web as well. It's
solid and has been of great assistance to me.

On A2000, it was particularly annoying with .mdb (Acces) files. But, chilton
is an easy fix.

Maybe there's more wisdom out there, or a secondary solution. Hope this
helps.
