New Year tidings to everyone

B

Bear Bottoms

Not long ago I was sitting down to Christmas dinner with my family.

Not all cultures celebrate Christmas but almost everyone celebrates the end
of the year. It is a reflective time; a time to look back on the year, a time
to count our blessings.

The last year has been a wonderful year for the BearWare website. We have
more than 50% more daily visitors than at the start of the year and we have
successfully weathered a series of small financial storms and minor
operational crises.

These may be small achievements for a commercial website but for a freeware
community website with no paid staff, no offices and no assets it is
remarkable.

This has been achieved by because of the generosity, talent and dedication of
the volunteers who run this site. To these wonderful people I give my hearty
thanks.

And in the same manner I thank you dear readers. Without your support there
would be no BearWare. Particular thanks to those who donated; your financial
generosity has kept us going.

The fact that we have managed to survive and grow means that we can continue
to tell many people about the wonderful array of quality free software that
is available. For well-off users free software is a bonus but to the
unemployed and disadvantaged freeware it is an absolute necessity.

The next year beckons; new challenges await. From my heart I thank you all
for your generous support and keep visiting the site.

And to all our readers in over 150 different countries across the globe may I
wish you peace, health and prosperity in 2011.

"This" is usenet, not your personal SPAM portal.

**** off, and take your SPAM with you.

Thanks.

It never hurts to give a little praise to volunteers or to wish folks
some prosperity
or mention something off topic when actually it has everything to do with
the topic...
helping one another. I thought that was what usenet was all about in the
first place.

Our tradition is to stand up, while we eat Christmas dinner.

The meal goes faster that way. And there is less overeating,
because you get tired of standing after a while.

Thanks for sharing (OT posting).

Charming, not. Keep your opinions to yourself. I deal in facts.

I never saw your web page before I read your salutation. I liked
it.... I bookmarked it. Screw the 'Grinch' and Happy New Year to you also.
