New words

How do I preserve the new words added to the microsoft word database, cause
my machine had virus problems and had to be formatted. Mircosoft office was
reloaded, but the problem is, there were lots of new words which I added to
the Microsoft Word database while working, and all of them were lost. I just
want to know if there is a way out of this if the same thing happens in
future.
 
If you mean the personal dictionary - then this is in the file defined as
such at tools > options > spelling & grammar, and is usually called
custom.dic
