Hi,

I have a windows2000 Ad in native mode, do you see any problem if I "
windows2003 adprep /domainprep" the domain and then add a new windows2003 DC
to that domain without upgrading the existent 2 windows2000 DCs?

thx

i don't see how it would be a problem since it is required if you will have
mixed 2000/2003 dc's

Eric,

The only way that I know to add a WIN2003 Domain Controller to a WIN2000 AD
environment is to first run ADPREP /forestprep on the DC that holds the FSMO
Role of Schema Master and then ADPREP /domainprep on the DC in each domain
that holds the FSMO Role of PDC Emulator.

You have to bring the schema from 13 to 30 ( the number of the .ldf
files...... ).

HTH,

Cary
