New window not maximized

In ym web page, I put a hyperlink to an external web page with the target
frame "New Window". The problem is that the new page is hiding my existing
page. Is there a way to define the size of the new window so it doesn't cover
the old one (it could have half size window approximately)? (I don't want to
use the target frame as "same frame" because I want that the user can see the
web page address in the new window).
