New wd hard drive shows but doesn't comunicate

I upgraded from 2000pro to xp pro corporate. My Western Digital 120
shows up in device manager but not in My Computer. It also shows to be
"working properly" but I cannot get into it or retrieve my data. Any
help would help. Thanks in advance.

Right click on My Computer and select manade. On the following screen,
click on Disk Management. It should show up on the right hand side of the
screen. Assign it a drive letter.
