New Users / Passwords WinXP Pro SP1

I've recently had issues with changing users passwords on
my NT4.0 PDC and than trying to add users to WinXP
workstations. The workstation is not recognizing the
password as valid. Can someone provide info regarding
this authentication process? Thank you,

For XP Pro machine to use passwords in NT4 domains they must be joined
to the domain and the From: field in login box should point to the
Domain (not the local machine).
