New to Outlook, but have a capitalization problem?

Hey all...
just moved to Outlook from OE, and now find that when I type an email in
HTML format, and it ENTER to break a line by choice, that the first letter in
that new line
is always capitalized. where can I turn that "OFF?" so that the flow is
normal looking?

Which version of outlook? It's an autocorrect options under spell check. You
can either disable it or press ctrl+z to undo it after it capitalizes.

Why not just type and let outlook break the lines? I (for one) find it very
annoying when people break lines on their own - the lines are weird lengths
or are very short and don't wrap good in replies.

using latest Outlook 2007 SP1...and thanks for the update on this, but I
think my problem is that I've always used HTML email, and my own company
stationery, which includes a 240px wide logo up top.

which has meant that I always hard RETURN my typing to fit 'below' that logo
image up top so that the email looks fine. I've tested same in OE, and
Outlook for HTML emails, and it comes thru fine -- that is, my own
'formatting' of all my emails is rec'd as I'd like it to look.

hence, my question about the hard RETURN and the capitalization....is there
another answer then that might work with my own new usage of Outlook?

however, I do agree that often emails I receive from others are very hard to
read properly...

did you uncheck the capitalize option in autocorrect? tools, options,
spelling, spelling and autocorrect button.

Yes, Diane...thanks. All works fine now..but that poses another
question....sigh...

Why is the stationary button in OE so much easier to use than in Outlook.
That is, I miss the ability to open up stationery and create new ones, make
changes to others etc. etc. At least, so far, I can't find a way to do
that....

Oh, and in Outlook, stationery that I created in OE, will NOT comply and
show only a single image up top (ie my logo) -- instead it tiles them. Is
there an answer for this in Outlook (as OE doesn't do that?)

OE was designed for home users, outlook is the corporate client for Exchange
server. Home users like to use different types of stationery, many corps do
not allow anything other than a predefined signature or corp stationery. OE
used IE's rendering engine, Outlook used Word's rendering engine. You can
edit then save outlook message forms as HTML in the Stationery folder then
load it using Actions, New message using... more stationery (after which its
on the new message using list).

To create a logo that sticks in one spot, you need to use tables for the
layout.
