New to macros question

R

Rekoop

What is the difference between storing a recorded macro in
i. New Workbook or ii. This workbook?

I understand that storing a recorded macro in the Personal
Macro Workbook will make the macro available to all Excel
workbooks; I just do not know the difference between the
first two is.

Thanks in advance

Not positive, but i believe that if you store it in New Workbook, i
will open a new blank workbook and store the macro there. If you sav
it in This Workbook, it will save on the workbook in which you recor
the Macro.
Please correct me if i'm wrong here

ThisWorkbook is the workbook that is active when you start to record the
macro.

New Workbook is as it says, a new workbook. You would need to save either
before quitting Excel or the macros are lost.
