How do I get rid of an NEW annoying loud sound when I go
into web pages? No new software, no changes, just got
the loud sounds today. Tried taking sounds out of the
control panel, but it didn't help. This is driving me
bats and I need help getting rid of this!

Karen,

How about looking in Control Panel>Sounds> scroll down to Windows Explorer>
Start navigation and/or complete navigation> preview sound and see if it's
the annoying one you've described. If so, either disable that sound, or
change it to one you'd prefer. OK out.

Also certain programs block cookies and they make a sound which is somewhat
like that which you've described. If you have a program such as that, see if
it has "inadvertently" been enabled.

I took off all the "sounds" in the control panel, even if
it wasn't THAT one. That loud "blorp-blorp" is still
there.

I posted the same question on 05.12 with no reply so far.
Interested if anybody else has the same problem. I`m
running Pest Control too. Is this a clue?

SpyBot S&D caused a DING when opening a 2nd copy of IE and then would
freeze the original copy when I closed the 2nd copy. De-activated
that function of SpyBot and all is well.
